The Red Devils have put together five names that could become the team's coach starting next season, with some interesting options included.

Earlier this week, reports started emerging about Manchester United's search for a new coach. Now, the reported search for the man who will be tasked with getting the Red Devils back to greatness has been narrowed down to five top-caliber names.

According to ESPN, the club's hierarchy has identified five coaches who could turn the team's fortunes around, but before they can even dream of having any of them in their dugout, they will have to negotiate with their current clubs.

Out of the names revealed by the American media outlet, all the coaches mentioned are under contract with other clubs, which may make it even harder to sign a new manager. Which is why, the first name on the list is none other than Ralf Rangnick, the current interim boss at Old Trafford and who would be given the chance to build his squad from scratch this summer.

The second name on the list is that of Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine coach has been linked to Old Trafford for quite some time, and since it seems that his time at PSG will come to an end, the Red Devils seem keen on hiring him as a long-term option.

The third man on the list is Carlo Ancelotti, who is a close friend of Sir Alex Ferguson. According to the report, Ferguson has asked the team's hierarchy to consider Ancelotti if Pochettino is unavailable, since the Italian's experience coaching high-profile players (such as Cristiano Ronaldo) could come in handy for the team.

The fourth name listed is that of Erik Ten Hag. Ajax's boss has been named as an option due to his successful job with the Dutch side, although the same report hints that Ten Hag may have doubts about joining the Premier League side this summer due to the lack of structure within the Red Devils' youth categories.

Last, but not least, Manchester United's list has also included Luis Enrique's name in it. Unfortunately for the club, it seems far-fetched to see the Spanish boss handing in his resignation months before leading La Roja to one more edition of the FIFA World Cup.

Surprisingly, this list has omitted names such as Antonio Conte or Zinedine Zidane, who were considered as options when the club fired Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2021.
