The league leaders will be without a pair of their able personnel when they take on their local rivals on Sunday.

Man City are set to be without two of important members of their side when they take on Manchester United in Sunday's derby. Manager Pep Guardiola has provided an update on the status of Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake after both players picked up knocks in the mid-week's FA Cup clash with Peterborough.

City took a step closer in their bid for another successful campaign in the FA Cup by defeating the Championship side by two goals to nil. However, the result came at a cost with both Dias and Ake failing to complete the full duration of the encounter. The pair were replaced by Aymeric Laporte and John Stones at half-time due to 'medical reasons' and Pep Guardiola has revealed ahead of Sunday's derby that the former is set for a long spell on the sidelines on the sidelines.

Addressing the press ahead of Sunday's derby, the City manager revealed that Dias picked up a hamstring injury and will not be in action for four to six weeks. He said: "Muscular. Hamstring. Four to six weeks. It happens. In other seasons our best players have been out for months.

"I'd love him (Ruben Dias) but he's not there, I will not cry. It is what it is."

With the status of Dias now clear, the concern for Guardiola and his technical team is whether Ake will be ready for Sunday's Manchester derb although it is almost certain that he will not feature in the starting lineup with Laporte and Stones available. In a more positive update, Jack Grealish is available for selection after starring in the win over Peterborough. The English midfielder made a goalscoring return after being sideline since their 2-0 victory over Brentford on February 9.
