Concacaf Champions League is back with quarterfinal action. MLS Cup champions New York City FC will kick things off at home against Guatemala’s domestic league reigning champions Comunicaciones, who defeated the Colorado Rapids in penalties in the round of 16. The remaining three matchups feature Liga MX and MLS side.

New York City FC vs. Comunicaciones

FOX Sports 1 and TUDN (Spanish-language broadcast) will screen the clash between NYCFC and Comunicaciones live on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.

Despite defeating Santos de Guapiles 6-0 over two legs in the round of 16, the Boys in Blue arrive at the first leg of the quarterfinals in poor form. The MLS Cup reigning champions are 0-1-1 in league play, falling to the LA Galaxy on opening day and drawing against the Vancouver Whitecaps 0-0. Not only will New York see the home game against Comunicaciones as an opportunity to advance to the Concacaf Champions League semifinals, but also as a possible morale booster for their domestic campaign.

Comunicaciones arrive at New York on fine form, winning four and tying two of their previous six league matches. On top of their good form, they are still on a high after unexpectedly knocking out Colorado in the Concacaf Champions League round of 16. Expect Comunicaciones to sit back and defend for most of the match like they did against the Rapids.

Seattle Sounders vs. Leon

FOX Sports 1 and TUDN will broadcast the first leg of the Seattle Sounders and Leon matchup live on Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET.

The Sounders have a big task at hand; to beat 2021-22 Liga MX Apertura runners-up Leon over two legs. Seattle head coach Brian Schmetzer is currently working on a plan to turn around a bad start to the team’s 2022 campaign, which has seen them suffer consecutive 1-0 losses to Nashville and Real Salt Lake.

Leon, on the other hand, is flying high domestically. The Mexican side is undefeated in its last six matches, winning five games and tying one. The Emeralds will be tested when they play Seattle in relatively cold temperatures before hosting Tigres UANL on the weekend.

New England Revolution vs. Pumas UNAM

FOX Sports 2 and TUDN will broadcast the New England Revolution taking on Pumas UNAM on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.The New England Revolution advanced to the quarterfinals after Haitian side Cavaly withdrew from the competition for failing to get U.S. visas. Therefore, New England’s upcoming match against Pumas UNAM will be their first glimpse of Concacaf Champions League action. The Revs arrive at the game fresh off a 1-0 home win against FC Dallas.

Cruz Azul vs. CF Montreal

FOX Sports 2 and TUDN will screen Cruz Azul hosting CF Montreal on Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET.

Cruz Azul finds itself in fifth place in Liga the MX Clausura standings after nine matches. La Maquina dealt well with Canadian side Forge in the round of 16 stage, winning their home and away matches. Montreal, on the other hand, will face its second consecutive Liga MX side. The Canadians turned the tables on Santos Laguna, who led the series before the second leg in Montreal. Club the Foot Montreal defended Saputo Stadium, putting three goals past Santos.
