The unlucky fan ended up having to seek medical attention after his celebration attempt went horribly awry.

Cristiano Ronaldo's success has naturally garnered him quite a fair share of praise worldwide, and it's no surprise that he has legions of fans from every corner of the globe.

That means that everything the 37-year-old Portuguese superstar does is closely watched, and in many cases, imitated by his supporters, both young and old.

This includes his famous "Siiu" celebration, which started nearly a decade ago during his time with Real Madrid. In an interview given back in 2019, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner noted that it wasn't planned and rather just "happened" when he was playing for Los Blancos in a friendly clash with Chelsea back in 2013.

Other players have copied it, including Everton's Andros Townsend during a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford last year. Safe to say, that definitely didn't go down well with Ronaldo or the Manchester United faithful.

However, while some have said that imitation is the best form of flattery, attempts to copy Ronaldo's iconic celebration go horribly wrong, as one amateur player found out recently. Here's the cringeworthy attempt, which actually resulted in the player ending up in hospital:

Fortunately, he seems to be OK, as he's seen eating, of all things, a pretty large pizza and a beer as he recovers from injury!

Meanwhile, Ronaldo, who missed out during Manchester United's humiliating 4-1 defeat to Manchester City last weekend, will hope to be back in action for the Red Devils sooner rather than later as his fans certainly would love to see him perform that famous "Siiu" celebration.
