The Ivorian international looks set to be plying his trade elsewhere after accepting an offer to play in La Liga.

A year after seeing two key players - Hakan Calhanoglu and Gianluigi Donnarumma - depart for Inter and PSG respectively, AC Milan looks set to be saying arrivederci to yet another integral member of their squad.

Franck Kessie will be set to join Barcelona on a free transfer this summer after the player's entourage and Milan were unable to come to a resolution regarding his contract. According to reports, the 25-year-old Ivorian international will make about $7.16 million (€6.5 million) per season for the next four years.

What make this move interesting is that Italian reports claim it's around the same amount he was offered by Milan to remain a Rossoneri player.

So why the move?

Well, Italian reports claim the driving factor is the fee that will be paid to Kessie's agent. According to Il Corriere della Sera, the Ivorian star's rep will earn an additional $11 million (€10 million) from securing this deal.

In addition, the same report also claims that a conversation that the player had with Barcelona's current boss, Xavi, also helped to sway his decision to be really pushing to swap the Stadio San Siro for the Camp Nou.
