Real Madrid are targeting a summer move for the Bayern Munich forward whose contract expires next year.

Real Madrid are targeting a summer move for Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry, a report from Germany has revealed. The 26-year-old winger's contract expires in the summer of 2023 and is said to have caught the eyes of Los Blancos who are eager to reunite him and David Alaba.

Gnabry came through the Arsenal academy but secured a move to Werder Bremen in 2016 following a lack of first-team opportunities. In 2017, he joined Bayern Munich and was subsequently loaned out to Hoffenheim where he scored 10 goals in 26 appearances. Since his return to the club in 2018, he has established himself as an instrumental figure in the Bavarians' dressing room, and has so far scored 60 goals in 162 appearances.

The ex-Arsenal attacker's contract with Bayern expires next year and according to Bild in Germany, he could be on the move this summer. The player is said to be unhappy with his side's manager Julian Nagelsmann, putting his renewal in doubt.

Real Madrid are now reportedly monitoring Gnabry's situation and could make a swoop for the German international this summer and have established contact with his representatives. David Alaba, who left Bayern to the La Liga club in a free transfer last summer, is apparently trying to lure the former Arsenal man to the Bernabeu. The pair spent four years together at the Allianz Arena and were key members of the team that won the UEFA Champions League in 2020.
