The pressure is on in the Serie A title race with the outcome of the weekend's games changing a few things in the top half.

Another round of matches in the Italian Serie A concluded this weekend and the quest to find the crownbearer in the title race keeps getting hotter with every passing matchday. On Sunday, Inter Milan made a significant stride in their title defense by securing a crucial 1-0 Derby d'Italia win at Juventus.

The win - which came as a result of Hakan Calhanoglu's re-taken penalty in first-half stoppage time - marked a huge turning point for the Scudetto race in Serie A. Essentially, Juve's chance of a last-ditch challenge was dashed as a result, with the Bianconeri now eight points adrift the tally of leaders AC Milan. With the outcome of Sunday's game, Inter closed the gap between them and the Rossonerri to just three points and the latter had the chance to extend the difference by a further three ahead of their clash with Bologna on Monday.

However, that was far from the case for them as a frustrating night at San Siro saw them end the game with a 0-0 scoreline. At the moment, Stefano Pioli's side is just a point above second-placed Napoli. The Partenopei were able to hold their own in their pursuit for the Scudetto by defeating Atalanta 3-1 in an away encounter on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho's AS Roma also kept the pressure on fourth-placed Juventus by winning 1-0 at Sampdoria. The Giallorossi are currently five points behind the Old Lady with seven games left of the season to play.
