Top games to watch in the UEFA Europa Conference League quarterfinals 1st leg

Marseille vs PAOK

Marseille are one of France's most exciting teams this season, with Jorge Sampaoli's men looking to make the UEFA Europa Conference League semifinals. However, PAOK stand in their way, meaning the Ligue 1 side must do everything to avoid disappointment again. Initially, Payet and Co. were in the Europa League, but after a less than ideal group stage campaign, Les Phocéens got demoted to this competition. The French outfit beat Basel in the previous round, triumphing 4-2 on aggregate, and enter this tie on the back of a lovely five-game winning streak.

PAOK, meanwhile, got to this round after beating Gent in the round of 16, overcoming the Belgian outfit 3-1 on aggregate. However, the Greek giants enter this clash on the back of a disappointing defeat, losing 2-1 to Panathinaikos over the weekend. That result brought the visitors' impressive nine-game unbeaten run and five-match winning streak to an end. Only time will tell whether Răzvan Lucescu's side can beat Marseille and return to winning ways.

Bodo/Glimt vs Roma

There is nothing better than a knockout stage rematch! These two teams met in the group stage of this tournament in an unforgettable encounter, with Bodo/Glimt pulling off a remarkable 6-1 thrashing of Jose Mourinho's men in the first of two clashes – the return leg ended in a 2-2 draw. Since then, the Norwegian outfit have gone from strength to strength, overcoming Scottish giants Celtic 5-1 in the playoffs before beating AZ Alkmaar 4-3 in the round of 16. Can the home side humble Roma once again?

The Serie A outfit are one of the favorites for the title, and for obvious reasons. In Tammy Abraham, the Giallorossi have one of Europe's most promising strikers, having scored 23 goals across all competitions in his debut season. Meanwhile, while Mourinho is no longer at the height of his career, the Special One remains an expert at winning and will thus be out for revenge. Don't miss this clash.

Leicester vs PSV

This is undoubtedly the standout game as two promising European clubs lock horns. Yes, Leicester have not been enjoying the best of Premier League seasons, but the Foxes remain a talented side that can trouble anyone on their day. Brendan Rodgers' men beat Liverpool not too long ago and came close to a triumph at Old Trafford over the weekend, drawing 1-1 with Man United. Maddison and Co. made light work of Randers in the playoffs, triumphing 7-2 on aggregate. However, Stade Rennais handed them a tougher test, with Leicester scrapping through courtesy of a 3-2 score line.

PSV, led by an in-form and highly sought-after Cody Gakpo, made it this far after enduring two interesting match-ups. First, the Dutch giants overcame Maccabi Tel Aviv in the playoffs, triumphing 2-1. However, things went up a notch in the round of 16, with PSV playing out a thrilling eight-goal encounter with Kobenhavn in the first leg, drawing 4-4. The Eredivisie heavyweights eventually won 4-0 in the second leg and thus progressed, with Roma now standing in their way of a semifinal berth.
