Three minutes later Mbappe capped off the win with a fine finish to complete his hat-trick. With the game's outcome, PSG are momentarily 15 points clear atop the table and, could secure the league title before the end of the month.

In terms of historical significance, Neymar and Mbappe became the first two players to score a hat-trick in the same game in Ligue 1 since Mbappe and Cavani in January 2019. For Lionel Messi, he became the first player in this century to provide three assists in two different games in the same Ligue 1 season.
