The veteran striker has struggled with injuries this season, and this latest setback will be a blow both to the player and his club.

Currently on top of the Serie A table - albeit by a very narrow margin following back to back draws - Milan are in contention to win what would be their first Scudetto in 11 years.

The Rossoneri were left frustrated due to a dull scoreless draw with Torino last time out, but are still ahead of both Napoli and Inter in this season's Scudetto race.

While their return to the Champions League was an utter disaster, as they crashed out of the group stages, Stefano Pioli's men are in contention to win a domestic double, as they're set to take on Inter in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia.

However, they'll have to do so without one of their key players. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has struggled with injuries this season that has seen him miss quite a few games, and has restricted him to just scoring eight goals across all comps so far.

Ibrahimovic wasn't able to travel to Turin to face Torino last weekend, and now it's been revealed that he'll miss at least a week and a half of action due to a knee injury. That means that the 40-year-old will miss out on the upcoming showdown with the Nerazzurri in the Coppa Italia as well as Serie A games against Lazio and Genoa.
