As per usual, Bayern are comfortably marching towards the Bundesliga title, but Dortmund will still hope to throw a wrench in their plans with a win in this weekend's Klassiker match.

Preview: Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund

The latest installment of Der Klassiker will get underway this weekend, but unfortunately for Dortmund fans and neutrals, it will not be a title decider. Once again, Bayern are set to run away with the league title, leaving everyone else in their wake. With a nine point lead over Dortmund and the rest of the chasing pack, regardless of whether die Roten pick up all three points or not, the Bavarian titans will still be on top of the league table and will win the Bundesliga title once again at the end of this season.

In fact, a win for Bayern would ensure that Julian Naglesmann's side clinch the title with a couple of games to spare. It's been a rather disappointing season for Bayern, who have been dumped out of both the DFB-Pokal and most recently, the Champions League following shocking losses to Borussia Moenchengladbach (5-0) and Villarreal (2-1 on aggregate). For many teams, winning the league title is a crowning achievement, but considering that Bayern have won every single title since 2013, it's become a rather routine thing for them to finish top of the league.

Having beaten Dortmund twice so far this season, first in the DFL-Supercup (3-1) and then at Signal Iduna Park in December (3-2), it's safe to say that Bayern will look to make three wins out of three meetings and a seventh straight Bundesliga victory over die Schwarzgelben.

Indeed, Dortmund haven't beaten Bayern in the league since November 10, 2018. Since then, it's been disappointment after disappointment for the team and their supporters, as they've lost each and every single one of their Bundesliga clashes; in three of those prior meetings, they failed to score. Certainly, although Bayern will win the title eventually, at the very least, Dortmund will be hoping to derail their opponents' celebrations for another week by ending their frustrating hoodoo at the Allianz Arena.

The visitors are facing an absentee crisis at the moment, with key players like Mats Hummels, Gio Reyna, and Axel Witsel all expected to miss this match, but have been given a boost with the return of Haaland just in time for what very well looks set to be his last Klassiker before departing this summer.

Team news: Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund

Bayern Munich: Thomas Muller is expected to be fit in time for this match, meaning that die Roten will be definitely missing Bouna Sarr (knee) and Corentin Tolisso (hamstring), while Kingsley Coman is a major doubt due to an ankle issue.

Borussia Dortmund: Dortmund have been given a major boost with the timely return of Haaland, who grabbed a brace in his side's 6-1 rout over Wolfsburg last weekend. However, they'll be missing quite a few players, with Mahmoud Dahoud (shoulder), Mats Hummels (thigh), Gregor Kobel (ankle), Meunier (hamstring), Mateu Morey (knee), Gio Reyna (hamstring), Marcel Schmelzer (knee), Steffen Tigges (ankle), and Axel Witsel (ill) all expected not to make the trip to the Allianz Arena.
