The Blaugrana side are considering to make a bid for the player, who is set to run out of contract once the 2022-23 season comes to an end.

With the end of the season right around the corner, some of the top names in football have been linked with high-profile moves away from their current clubs, and most of those rumors have ended with the players in question being a transfer target for Barcelona.

This time, the transfer talk has come all the way from Brazil, with Los Culés allegedly being interested in the services of one of Manchester City's top footballers. The Brazilian journal has reported that the Blaugrana side is keen on adding Gabriel Jesús to boost their attack next season. Apparently, the Brazilian footballer would be keen on leaving the Premier League side due to the lack of opportunities he has enjoyed under Pep Guardiola recently, and getting a fresh start with the Catalan side would be ideal for all parties involved.

The South American newspaper hints that negotiations are already underway, although both teams have only spoken about initial terms to see the player joining Los Culés. Sources close to the clubs state that Manchester City would be ready to part ways with Gabriel Jesús if the Catalan side can come up with €30M for the player's services (around $32M), a respectable amount of money for a player that has scored 89 goals in 229 games for the Citizens.

The Brazilian striker's deal with Manchester City comes to an end next season, which means this would be the last chance for the English side to cash in on a potential exit by the player.

The main problem for Barcelona would be to add one more striker without letting go any of their current footballers. Right now, the Blaugrana side works with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Luuk de Jong, Memphis Depay, and even Ansu Fati as center forwards, which means that any of these players has to leave for Gabriel Jesús to join the Catalan side.

With negotiations still in the early stages, it seems that both sides have a lot of work to do before any deal can be announced. Nevertheless, it would be interesting to see the 25-year-old playing regularly at Camp Nou, where he would team up with former Man City players such as Ferrán Torres and Eric García.
