The Red Devils look to bounce back after suffering consecutive defeats against Liverpool and Arsenal but will be without a fully-fit squad.

Manchester United are back in action this midweek, with the Premier League giants looking to recover after a terrible week in the English top-flight. Things will not get easier for the Red Devils as their next opponent will be none other than Chelsea as Rangnick aims to put an end to their horrible losing streak.

The 20-time English champions enter this clash on the back of consecutive defeats, having lost 4-0 away to Liverpool on Tuesday before going 3-1 down at the Emirates Stadium versus Arsenal. Not only did those two results condemn the club to a four-game losing streak away from home for the first time in Premier League history, but it has all but killed their top four hopes as well.

As a result, a win over Tuchel's men, although unlikely, is needed if they are to make the Europa League at the very least. Unfortunately, Rangnick looks to be without a number of first-team players for Thursday's Old Trafford clash.

Manchester United dropped an early team update via their official website and speculated that four senior players will miss the upcoming clash. They are Fred, Luke Shaw, Edinson Cavani, and Paul Pogba.

Of the four, Pogba and Cavani are set to leave this summer and thus might not have been played in the final games of the season. However, the other two, mainly Fred, would have been crucial in this tie as they could do with a hardworking and mobile midfielder against Tuchel's pressing side.

Scott McTominay and Raphael Varane, who missed the thrashing at Anfield due to injuries, returned to action on Saturday and will thus be available for this tie. Similarly, Cristiano Ronaldo, who was given a compassionate leave due to his recent family tragedy, also returned over the weekend and even scored.
