The Belgian ace put to good use a cross by Riyad Mahrez to help the Citizens take the lead in the crucial tie.

It was a dream start of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals for Manchester City, and as it has been for Pep Guardiola's team, it had everything to do with Kevin De Bruyne's influence on the pitch.

The Belgian footballer scored the opening goal for the English side just after 95 seconds into the game, which has undoubtedly given Guardiola's team more calm to work on the match. Even so, the goal gave fans and experts an idea on what Los Blancos needed to work on prior this clash and how Pep Guardiola and his staff prepared for the match.

De Bruyne went past Dani Carvajal and David Alaba to find the ball with a diving header, which he drilled past Thibaut Courtois. De Bruyne's goal was enough to help the Citizens make history in the competition,
