Despite hosting the 2018 World Cup, Russia has apparently been blocked from making bids to host future football tournaments, including the 2028 and 2032 iterations of the UEFA EURO competition.

Although they managed to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup without a hitch, it looks like Russia won't be hosting any international football tournaments for a long time.

Russia were set to host this year's Champions League final, only to have it moved to France after conflict broke out between them and one of their neighbors, Ukraine.

The Eastern European crisis has rapidly become a worldwide issue as many countries rush to offer support to Ukraine, and now, Russia's actions have caused the nation yet another problem.

According to reports, UEFA have now moved to block Russia from bidding on future tournaments, namely the 2028 and 2032 EURO competitions.

That means that other bides offered by Turkey, the United Kingdom (comprised of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland), and Italy are now looking like the front-runners to receive chance to host the upcoming competitions.

In addition, UEFA have also moved to suspend all Russian teams from competitions in the near future, which includes women's and youth tournaments as well as club competitions next season.

That means that no Russian teams will be able to compete in the Champions League, the Europa League, and the Europa Conference League, although they will be able to still play in domestic competitions.
