The Blues threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2, conceding the equalizer in the 97th minute while new owner Todd Boehly was in attendance.

With their new owners in the building and the club boasting a healthy 2-0 lead, everyone thought Chelsea were well on their way to a victory over Wolves today.

The London giants hosted Bruno Lage's side needing nothing but a win as the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham drew closer in the standings. With only one victory out of their last four Premier League outings in the build-up to this tie, it wasn't hard to see why Tuchel's men have fallen off recently.

The first half against the West Midlands side was cagey, with both teams coming close to scoring – the Blues had a goal ruled out for offside thanks to intervention from VAR. However, in the second half, the hosts were able to find the back of the net twice in quick succession, as Romelu Lukaku scored a penalty in the 56th minute before netting once again less than two minutes later.

And at this point, the game appeared done and dusted. Unfortunately for the home side, poor defending took center stage once again as Wolves mounted a brilliant comeback late on in the game, which was sparked by Francisco Trincao's 79th-minute goal. The visitors squandered a number of opportunities to equalize before eventually finding the back of the net in the 97th minute courtesy of a Conor Coady header, making this the second-latest goal scored by Wolves and conceded by Chelsea since Opta began.

This has left the Blues with two draw and two defeats from their last five Premier League games. Additionally, Tuchel's men have won only four of their last 10 top-flight games at Stamford Bridge, hinting at unwanted struggles on home turf.

This undesirable result came with Todd Boehly, the American billionaire set to buy Chelsea from Roman Abramovich, in attendance. Should Arsenal triumph over Leeds on Sunday, then the Gunners will move within a point of Mount and Co. amid this season's heated top four race.

However, it wasn't doom and gloom for every Chelsea player as Lukaku came away with a brace, which was a lovely feat given his poor debut season since joining over the summer. His two-goal haul saw the Belgian reach the 200th league goal mark in his professional career.
