The English international has had an excellent debut season in Serie A, and could set a huge record before the current season ends.

With Chelsea struggling for form at the moment, there might be a few Blues fans wishing that the London giants hadn't been so quick to part ways with Tammy Abraham.

The English youngster has had a standout season with Jose Mourinho's Roma, where he's netted 25 times across all comps, including 15 times in Serie A. His strong performances have helped Roma successfully navigate their way to the inaugural Europa Conference League final, and while a top four spot looks set to elude the Giallorossi, they at least will be featuring in European competition next season.

Next up for Roma is an upcoming clash with Fiorentina, and this game is especially notable as it could see Abraham set an unprecedented record.

So far, the late Gerry Hitchens is the top scoring English international in Serie A. During the 1961/62 season he scored 16 times for Inter, making him the top goal-scorer for the Nerazzurri.

Thus, a goal for Abraham against Fiorentina would see him tie Hitchens, whereas, of course, a double will see him surpass that.

Roma have three more games to go between now and the end of the season, so it's quite probable that Abraham will break Hitchens's long-standing record.

Will it be tonight against Fiorentina, or maybe against Venezia or Torino? We'll just have to wait and see.
