The Frenchman has set the rumor mill in motion after making a trip to the Spanish capital ahead of a purported summer move.

Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe was spotted in Madrid on Monday afternoon, sparking rumors which suggest that he might be closing in on a switch to Real Madrid. The 23-year-old Frenchman was seen in the company of former Los Blancos full-back Hakimi Achraf and his brother Nabil, with the trio reportedly eating in a famous restaurant in the Spanish capital.

It has been widely speculated that Mbappe will likely be a Real Madrid player before the beginning of next season although the possibility of staying at PSG also remains. At the moment, no significant development has been made as the player is yet to make a decision on his future and has delayed it until the end of the season.

With less than two months remaining on his current deal with the Ligue 1 champions, a recent report by Le Parisien stated that the club and the Frenchman had reached an agreement in principle to extend his stay for more two seasons. This also includes an option of extending for another year. Kylian would consequently make 50 million net per season, and per the account, would be able to cash in on 100 million loyalty bonus. However, the claim has since been swept under the carpet by the player's mother in a statement to Spanish publication MARCA.

On Monday, COPE broke the news on Mbappe's arrival in Madrid, where he was accompanied by former Real Madrid player Achraf Hakimi, as well as Achraf's brother Nabil. The player's reason for the trip was to familiarize himself with the city, affirming claims that a move to the Bernabeu could be on the cards in the coming months.
