Mbappe reportedly agrees deal with Real Madrid

Transfer: PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe reportedly agrees deal with Real Madrid

May 17, 2022 By Ali M.
The Mbappe transfer saga has reportedly come to an end, with Los Blancos winning the race to land the French sensation's services.

For months, Kylian Mbappe had denied making a decision on his PSG future but the French superstar looks to have finally put an end to his transfer saga.

According to Goal, as well as several other news outlet, the 2018 World Cup winner has agreed terms with Real Madrid and will complete his move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. The Ligue 1 sensation, whose contract runs out at the end of the season, will join the Spanish giants on a free transfer and achieve his dream of donning the club's iconic white jersey.

Initially, the 23-year-old wanted to wait until the end of the season to make a decision despite negotiations going on for quite some time. However, with the campaign nearing its end, Los Blancos have all but wrapped things up for the former Monaco sensation.

The first step will be Kylian announcing his decision to his current employers, which is set to take place after their final game of the season this Saturday against Metz. Despite having turned down several extensions, PSG were still hoping to tie their talisman forward down to a new deal, but that fight is now over.

A few details are yet to be agreed between Mbappe and the Madrid side but those are mere formalities. According to the report, the Spanish giants plan on announcing the signing after the UEFA Champions League final against Liverpool on May 28, which will be a great PR move as it would be the cherry on top of the cake should Benzema and Co. win the trophy or it will soften the blow should Ancelotti's side lose the game.

As for his unveiling at the Bernabeu should Real Madrid officially wrap up this deal, the Spanish giants intend on staging that after mid-June when the attacker returns from international duty. The Liga champions might have missed out on Erling Haaland, but the prospect of having Vinicius Jr., Karim Benzema, and Kylian Mbappe in one team is enough to have anyone excited.
