All too soon, what has been a remarkable 2021/2022 Premier League campaign is set to conclude. It has been a rollercoaster ride filled with thrills and interesting developments and there is still a lot more to play for as far as the winner of the title is concerned. While Manchester City and Liverpool put in last-ditch efforts to battle for supremacy in respective clashes with Aston Villa and Wolves, a number of clubs in the top halves will also look to seal their fates as far as qualification for European football is concerned next season.
For the Champions League, only one spot remains to complete the quartet that will be eligible for the competition. Chelsea have already secured a spot for the next campaign, and will be out to play for pride when they host already-relegated Watford at Anfield. The final UCL spot has drawn a battle between Tottenham Hotspur and their local rivals Arsenal.
While the latter had the upper hand over three weeks ago, Antonio Conte's men have manoeuvred their way into the top four and are on the brink of handing the Gunners the disappointment of failing to qualify for the seven year running. Only a win for the latter in their clash with Everton, coupled with an unlikely win for Norwich City in their match-up with Spurs will guarantee Mikel Arteta's men a spot in Europe's elite competition. Any result contrary to this will confirm their place in the Europa League alongside Manchester United.
The Red Devils will look to put their nightmarish campaign behind them when they take on Crystal Palace in their final game of the season. With new boss Erik ten Hag already in town, the club is on the cusp of a new era and will look to end the season with a win. Elsewhere, West Ham, who have already secured qualification to the European Conference League for next season will take on Brighton & Hove Albion.
