The Welshman bid an emotional farewell to Los Blancos recently, but the former Tottenham ace could end up remaining in Madrid.

Upon bidding an emotional—but foreseen—farewell to Real Madrid, everyone began wondering what is next for Gareth Bale's career.

The Welshman continues to be the talismanic figure for his national team, having guided the Dragons to FIFA World Cup qualification last weekend after their 1-0 victory over Ukraine in the playoffs final. However, at club level, his injury record and age makes him a tricky prospect for any top side.

An update has just been revealed regarding the 32-year-old and it isn't one fans would have expected. Despite being one of the best attackers in the game a few seasons ago, the former Tottenham ace has allegedly been offered to a low-tier La Liga club.

And this claim came from no one but the president of that aforementioned low-tier team. They are Getafe, the Madrid-based club that finished 15th in the table last season, only a point above the relegation zone.

Angel Torres, who is the president at the Azulones, made this surprise admission during his side's kit reveal for 2022/23, stating that he was offered the five-time UEFA Champions League winner during a phone call with his agent shortly before the event.

"Just 45 minutes ago, I spoke to Gareth Bale's agent," Torres said, as per Marca.

"They've offered him to us.

"We have to look at it with the coaching staff and the Getafe board."

There have been rumors that the Welshman is keen on staying in the Spanish capital ahead of the winter FIFA World Cup, which would align perfectly with the Getafe claim. However, there have been links with the MLS and the now Saudi-owned Newcastle.

It should be pointed out that while "representative" can sometimes mean a player's agent, Jonathan Barnett, who represents the Welsh legend, was not named by the Getafe president despite being one of the most well-known agents out there, thus casting a shadow of doubt.

Nonetheless, it will still be interesting to see where Bale ends up after a polarizing but trophy-laden spell at Santiago Bernabeu.
