The Cityzens have officially wrapped up a deal for the Norwegian superstar and announced this deal with a brilliant video.

The inevitable has finally been confirmed. Erling Haaland, the world's hottest young striker, has officially joined Manchester City and has been unveiled ahead of the 2022/23 Premier League season.

An agreement had been in place for quite some time but only now have the Cityzens officially wrapped up the deal for the Norwegian, with the 21-year-old moving from Dortmund to the Etihad Stadium for an initial fee of £51M (roughly $62M), which will rise to £85.5M (approximately $104.4M) when the likes of agent fees and signing-on bonus are included.

As with many players who join Guardiola's side, Haaland was slammed for this decision, with many accusing him of going where he can earn the most money. However, having given his first interview as a Manchester City player, the former RB Salzburg starlet revealed his true motivation, and it is not merely financial gain.

"I think I can develop a lot under Pep and in this club," the Norwegian told City's official website.

"I think I can get better on a lot of things and hopefully I can score a lot of (goals).

"I have spoken a little bit with him. We are both looking forward to working together."

The new signing was then asked why he had chosen to join the English champions over Real Madrid and Barcelona, two other clubs who were keen on his services. Erling's explanation was simple:

"First of all, my father, a little bit.

"I was born in England. I have been a City fan my whole life. I know a lot about the club.

"In the end, [deciding to sign was down to] two things. I feel at home here and I feel I can develop and get the best out of my game at City.

"I like the style (of play). I like the attacking football. I like the positive vibe we have when City play football.

"This is what I like a lot, so I think it's a good fit."

The striker then went on to speak about his desire to win trophies, something that Manchester City fans have become accustomed to under Guardiola. During his time with Dortmund, Haaland failed to get his hands on silverware outside of their 2020/21 DFB Pokal success but things are likely to change for him in England.

"Man City, great move for me. I'm proud. There are so many world-class players in this squad and Guardiola is one of the greatest managers of all-time, so I believe I am in the right place to fulfil my ambitions".

"I want to score goals, win trophies and improve".

The player, who scored a whopping 86 goals in 89 games during his spell at the Signal Iduna Park, has put pen to paper on a five-year deal that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2027.

One of the best things regarding his unveiling, besides the official acquisition of a world-class attacker, was the announcement video. Manchester City posted a short but hilarious clip on Twitter in which they re-enacted that famous picture of a young Haaland wearing the club's jersey, except this time, he is a fully-grown physical specimen.
