Mohamed Salah joined the club and its legions of supporters in bidding an emotional tribute to the departing Senegalese superstar.

It has finally come to an end. After six amazing years, Sadio Mane has officially drawn the curtains on his time at Liverpool.

Due to his contractual situation, the Senegalese ace's future at Anfield had been under doubt for quite some time. This summer marked the final 12 months of his Merseyside deal, with the English giants failing to tie him down to a new contract. And after their recent UEFA Champions League defeat against Real Madrid, the 30-year-old made the decision to depart Klopp's side and seek a new adventure.

After two failed bids, Bayern Munich were finally able to reach an agreement for the 30-year-old, with the Bundesliga champions landing the Africa Cup of Nations winner in a deal that could potentially reach $43M. The move was made official on Wednesday, with the German giants unveiling their new winger while the Merseyside outfit bid farewell to their club icon.

And what a farewell it was! Liverpool posted a number of tweets in tribute to Mane but one in particular hit all the right emotional nerves. In a compilation video, the Reds relived some of the most memorable moments from their winger, including his first words upon signing for the club, his most iconic goals (his first-ever goal for the club vs Arsenal, that memorable effort against Bayern Munich, and a number of crucial strikes against Manchester City), and his final message to the Anfield supporters. Check it out in the tweet below.

The club were not alone in bidding an emotional farewell as their legions of fans flocked to social media to say goodbye to the beloved attacker. Mohamed Salah, who shared a dressing room with the Senegalese ace since 2017, also paid tribute, posting a lovely farewell message via his official Twitter page.

Mane also spoke with Liverpool's official website for his final interview as he showed his gratitude towards Klopp, his now former teammates, and the fans.

"I will say that when I was a kid that was my dream, to win everything possible: trophies and individual trophies as well, that was my dream. So that is the reason I never stopped working, I am a very hard worker. Of course, for me it was the right time and the right club, when I was in Southampton, to come to Liverpool to achieve those things and I can say, 'Yeah, I achieved something', which is very, very incredible for me and I will be always grateful for this amazing club. I will never forget it and for sure I am looking forward for the next," Sadio said.

He later added: "I think whoever is leaving Liverpool, with those supporters you will always miss them because so far [they are] the best in the world and I have always said it. Especially when [they sing] my name, 'Mane! Running down the wing…!' – I don't know, I can't sing very well! Of course I really enjoyed the time and they, wow… how can I say it? Playing at Anfield I think always gives you so much power because of the fans. So, for sure I am going to miss you guys but anyway, I love you guys. I still have my house in Liverpool and everything so for sure I will come back, of course, and I would love one day to come back to Anfield to say hi to them and of course to watch Liverpool playing because for me, I am going to be Liverpool's No.1 fan – after the supporters!"

Mane also stated that while his career at Liverpool is over, he will become the club's no.1 supporter. Check out snippets of his interview in the video below.
