The Portuguese ace seems determined to leave the Old Trafford club despite their interest to keep him around.

The fairy tale return of Cristiano Ronaldo to Old Trafford seems to be approaching its conclusion, as the Portuguese player seems determined not to see the end of his contract with the Red Devils, which is supposed to expire next season.

The footballer is nowhere to be found at Manchester United's preseason training sessions, and with the team's preparations for a new campaign -the first one under Erik Ten Hag-, the player was expected to arrive to the club on Day One. Nevertheless, not only the player is not expected to arrive soon to the team's training complex, but he is also set to exclude himself from the team's preseason tour in Thailand, which could be devastating to the team's finances.

A report by Sky Sports states that Cristiano Ronaldo spoke to the club to expose his reasons to demand a transfer, while also informing them about the reasons for his absence. The media outlet revealed that CR7 missed the team's first days of training due to "family issues", while also adding that the same problem would prevent him from joining the team's tour in Thailand and Australia, which is set to begin this Friday.

While some fans may be inclined to believe this version, word on the street has suggested that Ronaldo's real intention is to force an exit from the red and white side after only one year. The main reasons for this decision would have to do with the team's lack of activity during the present summer transfer window and a reported wage cut taken by the entire first-team squad as a result of their poor performance last season, which saw them missing out on UEFA Champions League spots.

It is yet to be seen if the Red Devils can be convinced to let the player leave after this, but the truth of the matter is that Cristiano Ronaldo's future will once again be the subject of a new transfer saga.
