The English forward is on his way to Stamford Bridge as the first signing of the Blues' new era.

Chelsea reached an agreement with Man City to sign Raheem Sterling in deal worth $66M, latest reports from the UK have confirmed. The 27-year-old winger will reportedly join the Blues on a five year contract with the option to extend for a further year.

Up until now it had been a slow start to the transfer window for the Thomas Tuchel's side in the transfer window. Despite welcoming new owner Todd Boehly, the club has been unable to bolster their ranks despite seeing a handful of their stars exiting the club. Relatively, several other players have been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge, with none yielding anything substantial.

It seems the wait is now finally over with a report from the UK on Saturday evening claiming that Chelsea will kick start the Boehly era with Raheem Sterling as the first signing. According to the Athletic UK, the Englishman Chelsea's top attacking target and, despite negotiations with Manchester City dragging on for weeks, the twi clubs were never too far apart in valuation. Per the report, the fee for Sterling is $66M withno expected add ons.

Chelsea are now hoping to have Sterling with them in time for their Las Vegas stop. However, the City star must first complete his medical in London. He departs the Emirates with 91 Premier League goals for the Citizens in 225 appearances and a total of 10 trophies.
