The Red Devils' Brazilian midfielder scored a worldie in Erik ten Hag's debut game.

Erik ten Hag's first game as Manchester United manager finally got underway, with the Red Devils taking on Liverpool in an interesting pre-season showdown in Thailand.

Given that the Dutchman is yet to complete any major signing other than Tyrell Malacia, the new Old Trafford boss went with a familiar lineup,  naming the likes of David de Gea, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof, Marcus Rashford, Bruno, and Jadon Sancho in his first lineup.

As for the Merseyside giants, they went with a more youthful approach, but despite this, both sides entertained the Bangkok fans in the first half as both Alisson and De Gea were troubled in goal. However, only one goalkeeper conceded in the first 45 minutes and that was Klopp's reliable Brazilian shot-stopper.

The Red Devils opened the scoring through Jadon Sancho, with the Englishman profiting from a poorly-executed clearance from one of Liverpool's inexperienced defenders to slot the ball into the back of the net. This came in the 12th minute, with Manchester United having to wait an additional 18 minutes before scoring again.

However, the wait was worth it as the 20-time English champions doubled their lead via an absolute stunner. Once again, a defensive blunder was at play, with Fred profiting from another poor clearance to lob Alisson from just outside the box. Check out this pre-season worldie in the video below.

Anthony Martial grabbed a third later on, meaning Ten Hag's side went into the break with a 3-0 lead. While this is a mere pre-season friendly, Old Trafford fans can take a lot of positives from their team's first-half performance nonetheless.
