With the Portuguese ace still ready to leave the club, Erik Ten Hag and his bosses seem to have found the man to fill the team's No.9 spot.

Manchester United are not ready to start the season without a reliable striker in case Cristiano Ronaldo managed to leave, which has prompted the club to search for potential signings if the Portuguese footballer sorts out his future away from the club.

With that in mind, names such as Paulo Dybala have been thrown around in the English tabloids, but the Red Devils have also targeted a more feasible option from Olympique Lyon and who has also spent time with Atlético Madrid.

The team's newest transfer target would be Moussa Dembelé, who has been one of Lyon's most reliable strikers for the past four seasons. The French ace has scored 67 goals in 144 apps for the Ligue 1 side, even including the numbers from the 2021-22 season, which only saw him scoring once in 16 games.

Dembelé also spent six months on loan at Atlético Madrid, where he failed to score a single goal in seven games, but the real story with him as part of Los Colchoneros' squad was a medical problem that saw him passing out on the pitch due to an undisclosed medical problem. This issue prevented the player from making an impact with the Spanish side, forcing him to leave the club as soon as the season came to an end.

Dembelé's potential arrival to Old Trafford will only be negotiated by the Red Devils if Cristiano Ronaldo leaves, but that would not be the only transfer the club would consider if CR7 bids farewell.

The same report that has linked Dembelé to Manchester United also hints that the English side would also hire one more player to boost their attack, but as we said before, none of these moves will happen if the Portuguese ace stays put.
