Things are picking up pace for the Gunners as they look to wrap up a deal for Man City's Ukrainian ace while targeting defensive and attacking targets.

Arsenal's summer transfer business has now picked up pace one again after things went quiet in the aftermath of the Gabriel Jesus signing.

It is no secret that the north London giants were keen on Lisandro Martinez, the ball-playing Argentine center-back who can deputize as a left-back and defensive midfielder as well. However, with Manchester United winning the race for the South American talent, everyone began wondering who the Gunners would target next.

David Ornstein of the Athletic revealed the answer to that question on Friday, reporting that Mikel Arteta's side had switched focus to none other than Oleksandr Zinchenko after missing out on the aforementioned target. The English outfit quickly entered into negotiations with Manchester City and, according to other sources, were moving quickly to wrap up this move.

Fast forward by a day and the well-known Fabrizio Romano announced that Arsenal had reached a verbal agreement with the Premier League champions worth around £30M, which is just over $35M. The UEFA Europa League side have opened up talks with the player to agree personal terms – salary and the length of the deal – in a bid to bolster both their midfield and the left-back role.

And much to the excitement of Gooners, the transfer rumors did not stop there. In quick succession, the club were linked with two Bundesliga talents, sparking excitement from the fan base. The first was Edmond Tapsoba, the highly-regarded Burkinabé center-back who was pursued by Edu and Co. last summer prior to the signing of Ben White.

This report came courtesy of Gianluigi Longari of Sportitalia TV, stating that the London giants wish to bring the 23-year-old to the Emirates Stadium. Writing for Football Transfers, the journalist claims that Arsenal are preparing to make a bid for the defender, who is believed to be valued between €40-50 million ($40-50 million).

It is an interesting, somewhat eyebrow-raising link given the cost. However, Longari explains that Mikel has been adamant on adding another talented center-back with technical quality, hence the Lisandro Martinez pursuit. Tapsoba could challenge Gabriel Magalhães, who is subject to interest from Juventus, thus rendering Rob Holding unnecessary in the squad.

And that's not the only Leverkusen star Arteta has his eye on. According to the reliable Ben Jacobs of CBS Sports Golazo, the Spanish tactician, who is prioritizing adding a winger this summer, is an admirer of Moussa Diaby.

The journalist told GiveMeSport: "Someone like Moussa Diaby would be a welcome addition for Arsenal.

"Newcastle are also very keen, but it's not yet clear if Bayer Leverkusen will sell."

Additionally, while speaking on The Football Terrace, Jacobs went on to add that Diaby is an unlikely target for Chelsea but is an attacker that could be signed by the Gunners and Newcastle. Whether Arsenal will land the Frenchman, only time will tell, but it is an interesting link nonetheless after scoring 17 goals and assisting 14 for his German employers last season.
