The Portuguese icon is in search of a new club but according to the Bayern Munich director, the Allianz Arena will not be his next destination.

With Bayern Munich confirming that they have reached an agreement with Barcelona for the transfer of Robert Lewandowski to the Camp Nou, it was only a matter of time before links to Cristiano Ronaldo popped back up.

After a lengthy transfer saga, the Polish superstar has finally gotten his wish, with the Bundesliga champions and the Catalan giants reaching a verbal agreement. The 33-year-old has bid his farewell to the club and his teammates and is expected to join Xavi's side very soon to complete the move.

But what does this mean for the Bavarians and their summer transfer plans? The 33-year-old striker scored a whopping 50 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions last season for Nagelsmann's side, a feat not many strikers can achieve.

However, if there is an attacker who one would fancy matching those numbers, it is Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese icon has reportedly asked to leave Manchester United and despite previously denying any interest in the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, Bayern Munich were once again linked with the 37-year-old once it became known Lewandowski's exit was imminent.

The director of the German giants Hasan Salihamidzić publicly has addressed this topic for a second time and—once again—reiterated that the Portuguese legend is not on their wish list, telling Sport1: "I have a lot of respect for Cristiano Ronaldo, his successes and his career. But once again: that was and is not a topic for us."

While it is not clear whether this was the direct cause, Spartak Moscow decided to join in on the conversation and trolled Ronaldo in the aftermath of Salihamidzić's statement. The Russian heavyweights, who have become infamous for trolling players and clubs on Twitter, poked fun at the all-time top scorer in men's international football on social media.

The club shared a tweet they made over a year ago which shows a photoshopped Instagram conversation with Lionel Messi in which he turns down the opportunity to join them. However, this time, the Gladiators tweeted a photoshopped DM from Cristiano in which he offers himself to the Moscow outfit but they instead reject him!

This is playing on the trending social media joke that despite being one of the greatest players of all time, Ronaldo and his agent are struggling to find a noteworthy suitor for his services this summer.

Chelsea were linked but Thomas Tuchel has reportedly decided against making a move for the Old Trafford ace. Meanwhile, there is rumored interest from the MLS and an unnamed Saudi club, but the player isn't interested in any of those destinations.
