Austria have booked their spot in the quarter-finals and are looking to progress - but will need to find a way past tournament heavyweights and neighboring country Germany.

Preview: Germany vs Austria

Five years ago, Germany made a shocking early exit from the UEFA Women's EURO tournament, but this time around, die Nationalelf are looking to make sure that 2017 was just a mere fluke. They come into this game having recorded three wins out of three to easily win their group, scoring nine and keeping three clean sheets. Only England, who netted 14 times, had a better group stage campaign in terms of goals scored, and now, Germany will look to book their spot in the semi-finals as they take on neighboring Austria.

Although Irene Furhmann's side are the clear underdogs, Austria will still fancy their chances. This is the second EUROs appearance for the side, who made a surprise run to the semi-finals five years ago during their debut. They had to work really hard after an early setback that saw them lose 1-0 to England on matchday one, but recovered well to battle to much needed victories over debutants Northern Ireland and Norway.

Of course, if Austria want to qualify for their second straight semi-finals, they will need to overcome their hoodoo against Germany. So far, Austria have faced their neighbors twice, and both times, they came up short. Meanwhile, Germany, who have scored 97 goals so far in this competition, could possibly become the first team to reach a century of goals.

Will Austria keep their run going in their sophomore appearance? Or will Germany set up a semi-finals clash with either the winners of France vs. Netherlands?
