England are just one match away from the finals, but first will need to take on Sweden, who stand in their way.

Preview: England vs Sweden

England are nearly into the finals of this summer's UEFA Women's EURO championship, but first the Three Lionesses will need to find a way past a Sweden side that have been steadily growing in confidence. Sarina Wiegman's team had to battle tooth and nail to secure a 2-1 win over Spain, with the match going to extra time as La Roja became the first team to score against this summer's hosts thanks to a goal from Esther Gonzalez.

Indeed, England were looking at what would have been a heartbreaking exit, only for Ella Toone to net a late equalizer to push the match to extra time. During the first half of extra-time, Georgia Stanway's long range stunner - a serious contender for the goal of the tournament - proved to be the decisive factor to help the hosts overturn a 1-0 deficit and avoid what would have been a very disappointing end to their journey.

Of course, England will remember that they were eliminated at this stage at the last edition of the competition, and as they aim to book their first finals appearance since 2013, when they were beaten by Germany. Of note is England's long-standing unbeaten streak, which has now been extended to 18 matches, but that could come under threat on Tuesday evening.

Sweden have beaten England in their last two encounters, and overall, have won four of the last six meetings between the two sides. The Blågult also topped their group thanks to two wins and a draw, and like England, had to really battle to secure their spot at this juncture. Despite being the highest-ranked side at this tournament, Sweden were really pushed by a Belgium side hoping to make it to to the semi-finals for the first time in their history.

However, Linda Sembrant turned out to be the heroine for her side as her late effort was enough to finally defeat Belgium, and now Sweden will look to book their first final spot in over 20 years - provided that, of course, they can beat an English side who will be backed by thousands of very vocal fans on Tuesday evening.
