Conte trolls Tuchel on IG after heated bust-up

Conte trolls Tuchel on Instagram after the pair's heated altercation in Chelsea 2-2 Tottenham

August 15, 2022 By Ali M.
The Italian poked fun at the German after their number of bust-ups at Stamford Bridge during the heated London derby.

Tottenham's trip to Chelsea was the standout game of the weekend as two Premier League powerhouses locked horns in an interesting 90 minutes of football.

The Blues hosted the promising north London outfit at Stamford Bridge but despite dominating the opposition, Tuchel's men only managed to pick up a point, playing out a 2-2 draw thanks to goals from Koulibaly, James, Højbjerg, and Kane.

And not only was it a feisty encounter on the pitch, with players clashing, but it was a heated one off it as well as Antonio Conte and Thomas Tuchel were involved in a box-office altercation. The pair first squared off near the technical area after Spurs scored the first of their two controversial equalizers before things boiled over after the final whistle.

Despite appearing to foul Kai Havertz in their own third, Tottenham were permitted to carry on playing, with their Danish midfielder creeping a shot past Mendy for their first goal. Conte celebrated this a little too close to Tuchel's liking and the German manager confronted his counterpart, with everyone on the bench jumping in to intervene before things got worse, leading to a booking for both men.

Tuchel would get back at his opposition, running right in front of Antonio in celebration after Chelsea got their second, but with Kane and Co. equalizing in the final minutes of added time, that was not the end of it. The pair did the customary full-time handshake which led to another bust-up, this time even worse, with the two managers being separated and shown straight red cards by the referee.

When speaking in the post-match conference, both men played down the incident, arguing that it was merely an emotional reaction to a heated and highly-competitive affair. However, Conte rehashed everything after a while, taking to Instagram to troll the Stamford Bridge boss.

The former Inter Milan boss posted the pic of Tuchel running across him in celebration after Reece James scored, adding the caption "Luckily I didn't see… making you trip over would have been well deserved". While the Spurs boss added a few laughing emojis, don't expect the two to see this as a funny matter when they cross paths later on this season.
