The Red Devils have secured the service of the Brazilian from the La Liga giants.

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the £59.5M ($70M) signing of midfielder Casemiro, the club has confirmed. The 30-year-old midfielder joins the Red Devils on a four-year contract, with the option of extending a further year, and is expected to arrive in Manchester on Saturday to finalize his move.

United's official statement reads: "Manchester United is delighted to announce that the club has reached agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of Casemiro. The transfer is subject to the agreement of personal terms, UK visa requirements and a medical." 

The Red Devil's interest in Casemiro emerged out of the blue amid the backdrop of the club's fruitless pursuit of Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona. Having become apparent that the Dutchman will continue his career with the Catalans, the Old Trafford outfit have moved swiftly to conclude business with Real Madrid in what has been an interesting 48 hours in the summer transfer window. Reports of the club's interest in the Brazilian midfielder emerged in Spain on Thursday and before midday on Friday, Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that the player could be on his way out of the Bernanbeu.

Prior to Manchester United's announcement, Real Madrid issued a moving statement ahead of Casemiro's departure. It reads: "Real Madrid wants to express its gratitude and affection to Casemiro, a player who is already part of the legend of this club. Casemiro has been one of the most transcendental players in one of the most important and successful stages of our history.

Meanwhile, a farewell event has been scheduled to take place at the club on Monday before Casemiro completes his move to United. The The 30-year-old midfielder has been ruled out of the Red Devils' blockbuster clash with Liverpool set for the same day. He ends his Real Madrid chapter with 31 goals in 336 appearances. During the period, he won five UEFA Champions League titles, three La Liga titles, three UEFA Super Cups, one Copa del Rey, three FIFA Club World Cups and three Supercopa de Espana trophies.
