Spurs will not be in action for around another two weeks due to the upcoming international break, but their first game after the upcoming pause to the Premier League season will be a tricky test as Conte's men will face bitter rivals Arsenal in the always-heated North London Derby.
And given that there is a break between now and that trip to the Emirates Stadium on October 1, fans will understandably fret over the fitness of their players as this period has become notorious for causing problematic injuries.
And with that in mind, the curse looks to have hit Tottenham extremely early, before national teams have even kicked a ball, as one key player has already picked up an injury. That man is none other than Hugo Lloris, the club's no.1 keeper and captain.
The 35-year-old was called up to Deschamps' squad for the final international break before the 2022 FIFA World Cup kicks off, but sadly, the veteran shot-stopper was forced to pull out after suffering a thigh injury.
This means that Lloris will play no part in Les Bleus' upcoming UEFA Nations League showdowns with Austria and Denmark, and while the extent of his fitness problem has not yet been determined, there are concerns he could miss the upcoming North London Derby (as per the Sun).
With 11 seasons and 425 appearances under his belt for Tottenham, not only would Conte lose an in-form keeper should Hugo be ruled out for that game, but the visitors will also be without their most experienced player.
So far, the Frenchman has registered three clean sheets across all competitions and will be looking to make his 22nd appearance–and secure his eighth win–against Arsenal. Nonetheless, if Lloris were to be deemed unfit, Fraser Forster, who was signed for free over the summer, would deputize for Spurs.
Kane and Co. are yet to lose a Premier League game, but despite this, they currently trail the Gunners, who are first in the table, by a point, hence the importance of the upcoming derby.
