The Red Devils will have two key players available for Sunday's derby.

Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have handed Manchester United a massive boost ahead of Sunday Manchester derby. Manager of the Red Devils Erik ten Hag confirmed the availability of the pair who trained this week after respective spells on the sidelines.

Rashford was omitted from the squad from the last two games after picking up a muscular injury while Martial had been recuperating from a hamstring and Achilles injury after tasting just 45 minutes of Premier League football this season. Ahead of the trip to Etihad, fans were concern that United would lack enough firepower in the attack to test the resolve of their bitter rivals. Cristiano Ronaldo's recent struggles meant that they would have had to make due with a frontline featuring either Anthony Elanga or Alejandro Garnacho alongside Antony and Jadon Sancho.

However, the selection dilemma has seemingly been overruled with the two players recovering in time. Despite missed the training sessions earlier in the international break, the duo have been able to work out with their teammates ahead of Sunday's clash with City.

Speaking to the media in his pre-match press conference, Man United manager Erik ten Hag expressed his delight on having the two stars at his disposal for selection but ruled out the involvement of Harry Maguire. The English defender picked up a hamstring injury in the Three Lions' 3-3 draw with Germany in the Nations League earlier this week.

"The situation is that Harry Maguire is injured and I think for the rest we have some doubts," Ten Hag revealed.

"With Anthony Martial, he was training all week with the group so I'm really happy with that situation. He's performing really well in training, makes a good impression.

"Rashford returns to training, so we are also happy with that and for the rest maybe it's only long-term injuries like Axel Tuanzebe and Brandon Williams, they are not available."

The timing of Marcus Rashford's return has been lauded by fans of the club who expect him to carry on with his fine form. The 24-year-old England international will go into the game having been crowned the Premier League's Player of the Month for September. He scored two goals and managed two assists as well to earn the prize ahead of Erling Haaland and other contenders. Meanwhile, Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag made it a double a swoop for the club after being adjudged the Premier League Manager of the Month.
