The saga is about to end! It’s only a matter of hours before Edin Dzeko officially becomes a Manchester City player. This will see the Sky Blues wrap up a £27million transfer deal for “Saviour Dzeko”.
On Wednesday, after flying to England, the Bosnian forward completed his medical as rumours that Juventus could hijack Manchester City’s bid faded in the air. ESPN Soccernet reported Coach Roberto Mancini’s comments about Edin Dzeko’s transfer as follows:

“We have agreed a fee. He is a good player, and all the teams in Europe want him.”

Roberto Mancini also added that he would speak to the Bosnian after Manchester City’s match against Arsenal which ended in a goalless draw. Edin Dzeko is being portrayed as the player who will become the Sky Blues’ redeemer when the team struggle to find the keys to break deadlocks.

Wolfsburg manager Steve McClaren is one of the many people who believe that the Manchester City-Dzeko match is perfect for Sheikh Mansour’s club to achieve their ambitions.

“He will be ideal for City, especially alongside Carlos Tevez,” McClaren said while speaking to the Daily Mirror.

“That will be a very potent partnership, very strong. He is a big lad, strong and quick too. He also has good technique.

“But, most importantly, he’s a goal scorer who gets them with his left foot, right foot, his head. That is what [Manchester] City are getting. He’s a good buy for them.”

Edin Dzeko has left the German Bundesliga with 10 goals in 17 matches and with an average of almost 4 shots per game. He also scored 14 goals in 18 appearances for Wolfsburg this season. Dzeko is now set to experience life in the English Premier League very soon.

Some have already started suggesting that Man City might have defeated the Gunners at the Emirates on Wednesday night if they had Edin Dzeko on their side. Meanwhile, the striker is expected to adapt to Premier League football very quickly. Edin Dzeko could enjoy his first game for his new club in the FA Cup as Manchester City will play away to Leicester on Sunday.
