The Chilean had a bittersweet day in his first start for the Serie A side.

Alexis Sanchez's full Inter Milan debut took an unexpected turn with the Chilean getting sent off despite impressing in Saturday clash with Sampdoria. The Manchester United loanee managed to get on the scoresheet but failed to last the whole duration of encounter clash as he was handed marching orders before the Nerazzurri completed its historic win.

It was business right from the onset for the league leaders who opened the scoring through Stefano Sensi deflected effort in the 20th minute. Less than 120 seconds later, Alexis Sanchez slotted home from close range to double the lead.

However, the 30-year-old Chilean dealt Antonio Conte's side a major scare by getting sent-off a minute into the second half for simulation. A prospective comeback presented itself in the process with Sampdoria pulling one back through Jakub Jankto. The dramatic comeback was subsequently curbed as Roberto Gagliardini restored the two-goal advantage for the visitors in the 61st minute.

With Inter Milan carrying the day, its 100 percent win record remained intact. The significance of this is that for the first time since 1966/67 season, it has won all of its first six opening league games. At the moment, the Giuseppe Meazza outfit sits atop the Serie A table with 18 points - two more than reigning champions Juventus.

The two sides will go head to head in their next league outing, a game Alexis Sanchez will be ineligible to feature in.
