Lazio will hope to recover after a disappointing result against Atalanta as they take on Fiorentina and get their Scudetto ambitions back on track.

Preview: Lazio vs Fiorentina

Scudetto aspirants Lazio will be seeking to get back to winning ways as they prepare to host Fiorentina. The Aquile saw their 21-match unbeaten streak in Serie A snapped midweek as they ended up losing 3-2 to Atalanta. That result was even more disappointing as Simone Inzaghi's men held a very comfortable 2-0 lead over the ambitious Bergamo-based outfit, but were unable to take advantage of that as Gian Piero Gasperini's side managed to claw their way back into the game and leave the capital-based club with nothing in hand by the time the final whistle blew.

With Juventus, as expected, cruising to a comfortable win over relegation-threatened Lecce, Lazio now will feel even more pressure to pick up a win in this game, as they are currently seven points behind the reigning Scudetto champions. A win over the visiting Viola would close the gap back to four and at least keep Maurizio Sarri's side within touching gasp as there are still many more matches to play between now and the end of the current Serie A campaign.

As for Fiorentina, they presently sit in 13th ahead of this match and come into this game having dropped further points in a disappointing one-all stalemate with Brescia. In addition, the visitors now will have to make do without several key players due to injury and suspension, with both Federico Chiesa and Martin Caceres banned, and Christian Kouame injured, while manager Beppe Iachini is also banned for this match.

Team news: Lazio vs Fiorentina

Lazio: Inzaghi will have to make do without several players due to injuries: Luiz Felipe (calf), Danilo Cataldi (ankle), Lucas Leiva (knee), Senad Lulic (ankle), Adam Marusic (muscular issues), and Bobby Adekanye (muscular issues).

Fiorentina: Veteran defender Martín Cáceres is out suspended for the visitors, so will not be able to play against the team he briefly featured for during the 2018/2019 season; ironically, his sole goal for the Aquile was during a 4-3 away win against his current team, Fiorentina. Additional absentees for the visiting team include Federico Chiesa, who's also banned, and Christian Kouame, who's out with a knee injury.
