About Supercopa Uruguaya
The Supercopa Uruguaya (Uruguayan Super Cup) is an annual one-off match contested by the Primera División champion and the Torneo Intermedio winner. It was founded in 2018 and acts as the curtain-raiser for Uruguay’s domestic season. If one club wins both the Primera División and the Torneo Intermedio in a single season, then their Supercopa Uruguaya opponent becomes the Torneo Intermedio runner-up. Peñarol won the inaugural title, beating Nacional 3-1 in the final.
