The Frenchman scored the game-winning goal against SKC last Saturday and was voted Week’s 26 Goal of the Week.

Last Saturday, Thierry Henry proved that he still has quality to score fascinating goals as he blasted in the winner for the New York Red Bulls against Sporting Kansas City. 

The goal came in the 52th minute, the Red Bulls were leading 1-0 when the former Arsenal player grabbed the ball in the right edge of the box, cut in, and then blasted a right-footed shot to the upper corner. Sporting Kansas City’s keeper Andy Gruenebaum couldn’t do much as the ball went past him. 

Surprisingly, this was Henry’s first Goal of the Week award since joining the Red Bulls in 2010. The 37-year-old has made 115 appearances with the New York side and has scored 49 goals. He is among the leading assisting players in the current MLS season with 12 assists. 

The New York Red Bulls will face a tough match on Saturday when they visit Philadelphia to play against the Union in the chase to secure a playoff spot.
