The expensive shirts went out on pre-sale this Thursday. Hours ahead of Gerrard's last Merseyside Derby.

Many things will change for Steven Gerrard when he joins MLS team, L.A. Galaxy. One thing will remain the same, that is the number on the back of his jersey.

Fans at Anfield have seen the number 8 on the back of Gerrard for over the past ten years, that number won't change when playing at the StubHub Center. Pre-ordering his new short-sleeve kit costs £114 ($174.99), three times as much as his current Liverpool jersey.

Before thinking about success a thousand miles away, the Liverpool captain is focused on his last Merseyside derby this weekend at Goodison Park. Everton’s manager Roberto Martinez hopes it is not a pleasant one for the British star.

“There is going to be a lot of talk about Gerrard but the only thing that matters to us is to try to use this as a springboard for our season," Martinez said.

The rivalry between these two teams is something Stevie G. will hardly encounter in the MLS. When playing against Everton, he has won 17 games, drawn ten and lost five.

Gerrard will be landing this summer with the most successful club in the MLS. The same team that in 2007 signed David Beckham and just won their fifth league title, making it the franchise with the most championships in the MLS (5).

Their fifth championship in 2014 earned them a trip to visit the President of the United States, Barack Obama, at the White House. Former Tottenham and Liverpool player Robbie Keane, who now plays with L.A., was in attendance.

That could be something Gerrard would like to experience. Helping his team win a sixth championship is the key to making it happen.
