Liverpool fans can't complain about Steven Gerrard's ability to bounce back from complicated situations. The Reds' legendary midfielder seemed to be the villain for his team after having a penalty kick denied by Robert Green, but he managed to overcome his miss to make the game-winning goal for Anfield Road's owners after 87 minutes.
This game was one of the best examples you can have to read people's minds. Stevie G was harshly criticized for his missed penalty, which was superbly defended by Green, and when all fingers were blaming Liverpool's Number 8 for their misfortune, he was able to change their minds.
This were some trolls after he missed the shot from the 12-yard spot.
Oh. My. God. Gerrard's probably having his worst season for Liverpool. A miss from the penalty spot. Laughable.

Gerrard's mind has completely gone this season. His head just isn't in it. Last season destroyed him. #LFC

To be fair to Gerrard 12 yards is a hard distance to score from. Advantage is always with the goalkeeper

Then, he had the chance to shut up his naysayers.

Journo: "Have you ever scored a better header?" Gerrard: "The Champions League final? Journo: "I don't remember that one." Gerrard: "I do."

Possibly it would be Gerrard's last celebration in front of the kop.

Those who are determined to remember Gerrard as the aging player who slipped. He gave us one last glimpes of what he's done for years today.
