Scotland host Liechtenstein in a Euro 2012 qualifying match that offers them a decent opportunity to bag quite a number of goals at last.

Euro 2012 Qualifying: Scotland fans cheering their team on from the standsThere were no goals between Scotland and Lithuania last Friday and this is something that definitely needs to change for the Scottish on Tuesday night.

Scotland will have to do without the services of Kirk Broadfoot who picked up a knee injury. But Lee Wallace, Kevin McNaughton, and even Steven Whittaker could feature against Liechtenstein. Speaking ahead of the Scotland vs Liechtenstein encounter, the manager of Tuesday’s hosts stated:

“The result is obviously the most important thing. But, I’m looking to see if there’s something there we can build on, and the answer is most definitely ‘yes’.”

Liechtenstein definitely enter Tuesday’s clash as the underdogs besides the fact that the away factor might give them more troubles. They categorically failed to make anything of their home advantage as they were trounced 4-0 by Spain on match-day one of their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign.

As a result, Liechtenstein are at the bottom of Group I’s five-team table. In spite of all these truths, Bidu Zaugg has found confidence ahead of Liechtenstein’s qualifier against Scotland as he told the media:

“It will be important for us to survive their early attacks. I’m sure that if we succeed in doing just that, then we will get space and chances to attack ourselves.”

As Spain play a club friendly against Argentina on Tuesday and thus only resume their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign in October, Scotland are poised to go on top of Group I with four points from two games. Lithuania, who drew 0-0 with the Scottish on match-day one, will provide Czech Republic with their first game of the Euro 2012 qualifiers.

Scotland are expected to clinch more than a one-goal victory at home to Liechtenstein. There’s therefore a huge possibility that Spain will be surpassed by the Scottish (until October 10 at least) unless Lithuania stun Czech Republic with a victory on Tuesday as well.
