Having seen both Edin Dzeko and Stefan Jovetic leave for the Serie A, joining Roma and Inter Milan respectively, Manchester City are short on strikers and will be keen on avoiding injury scares to their remaining goalscorers.
Only Wilfried Bony and Sergio Aguero remain at the Etihad, but Manuel Pellegrini looks to have been robbed of the Ivorian striker's services due to injury.
The former Swansea ace, who joined Man City last season in a £28m transfer, posted a picture of himself wearing a medical boot on his left leg, holding clutches, after receiving a severe cut believed to be 6-7cm in length.
Luckily for the English Premier League giants, the injury may only keep him out of action until the international break ends, as revealed by the club’s manager in a press conference ahead of Saturday’s clash with Watford.
"Bony has a cut on his leg and will not play tomorrow, but I think he will be back after international break," stated Pellegrini.
Despite Wilfried Bony’s injury being a minor one, Man City are still keen on adding high profile names to their squad before the summer transfer window shuts close, on Wednesday.
Reports suggest that Wolfsburg superstar Kevin De Bruyne is close to becoming The Citizens’ record signing, with a £54m deal near completion.
Furthermore, transfer rumors claim that the Manchester side have signed former Real Madrid striker Rubren Sobrino.
