Fresh of their disappointing 1-1 draw with Roma in the Champions League, the Blaugrana will welcome Lucas Alcaraz’s crew.

It’s only been four days since Barcelona succumbed to a disappointing 1-1 draw in their Champions League opening game, last Wednesday, but the Blaugrana are already gearing for a return to winning ways.

The pressure is on Luis Enrique’s crew to clinch the victory, with rivals Real Madrid having moved three points clear at the top thanks to a narrow 1-0 win over Granada on Saturday.

The Catalan giants will play host to Levante on Sunday in their fourth game of the season, winning all of their previous three encounters. Although the Camp Nou encounter appears to be easy tie on paper, the Barcelona coach isn’t taking their weekend opponents lightly.

“I am expecting a Levante with the same attitude that I have seen of them in the first few games of the season. They will be ready to make life difficult for us, getting players behind the ball. It is always difficult to attack a team that has players sat back in defence … We have been scoring less goals than other seasons? That doesn’t worry me at all. In terms of points we are doing well,” said Enrique.

Messi and Co. boast a wonderful record against the side from Valencia, however. In their last two fixtures last campaign, the Blaugrana came out victorious twice on a 5-0 score line.

Barcelona have locked horns with Levante at the famous Camp Nou stadium 10 times in La Liga, and the Catalan giants won every single meeting, whilst keeping 5 clean sheets along the way.

They have also registered a clean sheet in five of their last 6 home matches.

In addition, Lucas Alcaraz’s crew have a lot to fear in the form of four-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi. The Argentine ace, in 13 run-ins with Llevant, has managed 13 goals, meaning he boasts a ratio of a goal per game against Sunday’s opponents.
