Chelsea fans hoping to see the Italian manager return to Stamford Bridge will be left heartbroken.

Chelsea fans who have grown tired of current manager Jose Mourinho and were hoping to see Carlo Ancelotti return to Stamford Bridge may be heartbroken, as reports suggest that the Italian manager has already agreed to a deal with a Premier League side.

The former Real Madrid boss, who was sacked by Los Blancos after a trophy-less 2014-15 campaign despite delivering La Decima the season before that, has been on sabbatical, but rumors were linking him with a second spell at Stamford Bridge.

The 56-year-old tactician won the English Premier League title, FA Cup, and Community Shield in two successful seasons in London, from 2009 to 2011, before departing.

With The Special One struggling this term to defend Chelsea’s title, sitting just two points adrift of the relegation after 8 losses in 15 games, many might have been hoping for Carletto to take over the helms at the Blues once more. This appears unlikely now, however.

But this still means a return to England’s top-flight for Ancelotti, right? Not quite so. Although he is tipped with a move to the Premier League, it is the Russian Premier League, with Zenit St. Petersburg his expected destination.

According to Izvestia, the Russian giants, through to this season’s Champions League round of 16, have already struck a two-year agreement with the former PSG and AC Milan boss, which will see him earn a whopping €16m-per-season.

Current boss Andres Villas-Boas will vacate the managerial post at the end of this season, but fans of Sine-belo-golubye should not be too sad to see the Portuguese coach go, with the far more decorated Italian set to arrive.

Chelsea fans, no need to be sad either, because should Mourinho’s reign end, Antonio Conte is favorite to replace Jose.
