The super agent jumped to the Portuguese manager’s defense after the 52-year-old’s Chelsea sacking.

After news broke that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was sacked, many were quick to troll the Portuguese boss – Arsenal fans in particular – after his horrendous 2015-16 campaign.

Sitting a point adrift of the relegation zone in 16th spot, 9 losses in their first 16 games saw The Special One’s second spell at Stamford Bridge come to an end through “mutual consent”, according to the club.

However, despite this huge hiccup in what has been a successful, trophy-laden career for Mourinho, agent Jorge Mendes remains adamant that Jose remains “the best in the world”.

Speaking in an interview with Portuguese newspaper A Bola, the super agent –representative of the likes of Mourinho, Cristiano, and Falcao – argued that Mourinho’s track record attests to his undeniable talent.

“Jose Mourinho does not stop being who he is and he is still the best coach in the world despite leaving Chelsea,” said the agent.

“When Mourinho left Chelsea the first time, he accepted a tremendous challenge and did what no one in the football world believed he could do and that was to take on Inter and lead them to win the Champions League, Serie A and Coppa Italia, a truly remarkable achievement.”

“Then he went to Real Madrid and inspired an historic achievement of the Spanish league, beating all possible records against a great Barcelona, and also the Copa del Rey. Today, Mourinho is still the man who coached the English champions and even so, he does not need someone to defend him because, I repeat, he has an amazing career that undoubtedly speaks for itself.”

The former Chelsea boss is now out of employment, but don’t expect a manager of his status to remain jobless very long.

Although Real Madrid ruled themselves out from resigning Jose, reports already have him linked with Man United, where fans’ discontent with Louis Van Gaal continues to grow.
