With three weeks remaining before the new season kick starts in England, Antonio Conte is working against the clock to make new additions ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Chelsea have added two quality names to their squad in the form of Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi and 2015/16 Premier League winner N’Golo Kante. However, the Daily Mail claim that the Blues are not yet done in the transfer market.
Conte is reportedly eyeing four more signing before their opening game at home to West Ham. The British news outlet write that the Italian has highlighted the addition of a world-class striker, two defenders, and a back-up goalkeeper as key.
Alvaro Morata and Romelu Lukaku are two targets to bolster Chelsea’s attack, but neither appear to be close to a Stamford Bridge switch.
Real Madrid recently rejected a £62m bid from the London giants for the Spanish forward, whilst Everton’s Belgian ace is keen on Champions League football.
Napoli’s £50m center-back Kalidou Koulibaly is also high up Chelsea wish list, but the Blues will face competition for the Senegalese defender from Everton. However, the player himself is reportedly keen on a move to the English capital.
Another option that Conte is exploring in the defensive department is Victor Lindelof, the Swedish defender who enjoyed a breakthrough season with Benfica last term.
A center-back who can also play as a right-back or defensive midfielder, Chelsea have reached a deal with The Eagles for the 22-year-old for £26m.
Thibaut Courtois remains the number one choice for the Blues in between the sticks, but Diego Lopez of AC Milan could be brought on as a back-up option for the Belgian shot-stopper.
