The Nerrazzuri parted company with Mancini and now look to appoint the former Ajax boss as his replacement.

Italian giants Inter Milan are manager-less, but it won’t be too long until the Serie A side have a well-known tactician in their dugout.

According to the Telegraph, the Nerrezzuri will soon appoint Frank de Boer as their new boss, with confirmation expected to arrive early this week. This is after Inter parted ways with Roberto Mancini.

The former Manchester City manager leaves Stadio Giuseppe Meazza after guiding the club to a heavy 6-1 defeat to Tottenham. Icardi and Co. also missed out on a Champions League spot after finishing last season in fourth spot.

“F.C. Internazionale Milano confirms that it has parted company with head coach Roberto Mancini by mutual agreement,” the club said in an official statement.

“Inter would like to place on record its thanks to Roberto for the work carried out with the team since joining in November 2014.

“Last season the Club led Serie A until the Christmas break, ending the season in fourth place and qualifying for the UEFA Europa League.

“We thank Roberto for the work and commitment he has shown the Club over the past 20 months.”

With only two weeks remaining before the new Serie A season kicks start, Inter are keen on quickly wrapping a deal for de Boer. The Dutchman is currently a free agent after leaving his club of the last six seasons Ajax.

The 46-year-old enjoyed tremendous success in the Eredivisie, winning four league titles since arriving in December 2010. Previous rumors linked de Boer with a move to Everton or Southampton, but both English Premier League side have hired other managers – Ronald Koeman and Claude Puel, respectively.

It’s unclear what the Dutchman’s arrival could mean for Inter’s current crop of players. There is of course the matter of club captain Mauro Icardi, who appears to be on the brink of a San Siro exit.
