Liverpool will clash against Stoke City this weekend as their unbeaten run continues in the English Premier League. Steven Gerrard is looking for a victory following their recent draw.
Stoke City’s Britannia Stadium isn’t the best place for weakened teams to recharge their batteries. Arsenal and Manchester United can tell you just how much strength and luck is needed at times to triumph away to Stoke.

Now Liverpool are in a delicate situation presently, hanging on to their current top half position. Their defeat of Chelsea injected some much needed excitement among their supporters, but their very recent 1-1 draw away to Wigan Athletic has somehow brought disappointment once again.

Unfortunately for Liverpool, they couldn’t capitalize on Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland’s draw. Eventually, they still seat behind these two teams in 9th position with 16 points like 5 other English Premier League contenders.

So Wednesday night marked yet another lost opportunity for the Merseyside Reds who had started experiencing a revival with 4 victories grabbed on the trot. This weekend, it will be time for Roy Hodgson’s army to face the stance of Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium. This match may require a lot of physical and mental strength from Liverpool but Steven Gerrard has assured fans that the team would do whatever it takes to get back to winning ways.

“Maybe our performance [against Wigan] suffered after the energy and intensity we put into beating Chelsea,” Captain Planet explained to reporters in an interview after Liverpool’s draw away to Wigan Athletic.

“[But against Stoke City on Sunday], it’s going to be tough. But we’ll have to stand up and fight to stick together.

“And if we get a win, that would be a superb result. We’ll be ready for it.”

Stoke City moved up to 16th in the English Premier League standings thanks to their vital 3-2 win over Birmingham earlier this week. The Potters are keen to add more points to the 13 they currently have, so Liverpool might not have an easy task on Sunday but their fans would be proud to see them performing like real soldiers.
